A #DOP Day in the Countryside

Over lunch we get to know our new Dallas friends, exchanging travel stories and eventually emails, hoping to see one another again in one of our respective hometowns. Yay we made some friends! As dusk falls and we leave our “lighta lunch” the Austrian lady is encouraged and successfully pulls off “sabrage”. We are an enthusiast crowd and cheer her on as she swiftly runs the sword up the bottle and cleanly cuts off the top, sending the cork flying. We share one last toast together with the foaming pignoletto, the region’s sparkling white wine, before driving back to Bologna in the dark. #DOP Ricardo was right, it was a greata day, one of the besta ever.
